Attempted yesterday and passed my lab exam. Here is the update for everyone guys. section 1: - DCNM..update it to sha , save/deploy, and change it back to md5 with correct password, save/deploy worked. corrected the IP on int that points to bgw1. it was configured with wrong IP. the int pointing to bgw2 was configured correctly but it doesnt have the green check mark on the interface list. so i just saveed it and deployed. so both interfaces are showing green check now. now on fabric builder page, i go to IPN again, its green for IPN..but the links from IPN to DC1 and DC2 are red....red means out of sync..so the connetion from IPN to dc1 and dc2 are out of sync. unless we fix dc1 and dc2 from dcnm, it is going to be red. but thats not our problem (nor the question asks you to fix) - on BGW2, i changed the rp group address. currently in the exam, and here in our lab, the pre-config for BGW2 is this. ip pim rp-address 10.0.10.1 group-list 225.0.0.0/24 interface nve1 no shutdown host-reachability protocol bgp source-interface loopback0 multisite border-gateway interface loopback100 member vni 10101 multisite ingress-replication mcast-group 239.0.0.1 member vni 10102 multisite ingress-replication mcast-group 239.0.0.1 member vni 10103 multisite ingress-replication mcast-group 239.0.0.1 member vni 10104 multisite ingress-replication mcast-group 239.0.0.1 member vni 50000 associate-vrf the multicast ip add 239.0.0.1 is not part of the subnet 225.0.0.0/24 group. if you do show ip mroute , you will not see a group for 239.0.0.1 that points to interface e1/1(where dc2-n7k is connected and where the RP is). show ip mroute will show you a group for 239.0.0.1 with null list for interface. I changed the RP config to ip pim rp-address 10.0.10.1 group-list 224.0.0.0/4 (this is whats configured in DC2-N7K..so copy and paste without bidir) this subnet includes 239.0.0.1. so now show ip mroute will show you the group 239.0.0.1 with interface e1/1 section 2: after creating CCIE-SP1, i went to assign a server to it. the list was EMPTY. they have 2 servers in Richardson (1/1 and 1/2). both were not there. panic mode ON. i went to equipment-> servers->server 1, maintenance and chose re-acknolwedge (i may not be accurate on how to nagivate to re-acknowledge)..it will take another 15 min to go down and come back up with all the hardware tests and checks. even when it came up, it will auto create service profile on its own and assigns this server to it. i then have to shutdown that server, disassociate the auto profile , which takes another 10 min. then assign ccie-sp1. one thing to note here, while i was fixing that, i worked on sp2 and other part of ucs questions. when i went to assign a server to CCIE-SP2, i now see the server 2 on the list. though i did not do anything to this server. only tried fixing the server 1 like i mentioned above. so i believe, NOT giving enough time after the chassis acknowlege is where the problem is. i think it needs more time to become online after chassis acknowledge. while rebooting N5Ks, we were asked to check DCNM. I suggest we also log into UCS and quickly do the first part that includes acknolweding the chassis . then go back to section 1, by the time you come back here after 1.5 hour, ucs should be ready. if you still have server finding issue,then follow my fix or workaround i mentioned above. section 3: naming were different. such as aep, egp, domains..etc. as long as you know your stuff, naming should not bother you. FEX02 profile was there. just had to add aep and other. i had to create http filter. for the MULTIPOD question. this is what we have and the exam had. vrf context MPOD-IPN ip pim rp-address 44.1.1.1 group-list 225.0.0.0/8 bidir ip pim rp-address 44.1.1.1 group-list 239.0.0.0/8 bidir i only change the second RP to 'ip pim rp-address 44.1.1.1 group-list 239.255.255.240/28 bidir' the documentation suggest that also. [Hidden Content] Add bridge domain GIPO range as PIM Bidirectional (bidir) group range (default is 225.0.0.0/8). A group in bidir mode has only shared tree forwarding capabilities. Add 239.255.255.240/28 as PIM bidir group range. we add 225.0.0.0/15 here in the lab practice. technically it will work also. -The actual scripting on exam is bit different. more lines for each tasks and vars. such as 'description: created by Ansible' and <<:0 apic_info is called <<: apic_login etc. even 'with sequence: count' has a different command with start=1 end=100 instead of count. but thats not for you to worry. the missing piece is EPG task. so all you do is copy the 'create AP' tasks or even write it down on a notepad on the test PC and change it around to create EPG. The question asks you to create tenant, BD, ap and epg. It does NOT ask for VRF. even their config did not have a task for creating VRF. when we don’t create VRF, it automatically assigns to common/default VRF. so imagine this is what you have on the exam for create AP. (in the exam it will look bit different like i said) - name: create ap aci_ap: <<: *apic_info tenant: Scripting ap: App{{ item }} state: present with_sequence: count=100 all you do is copy that and add/modidy these 4 lines. - name: create epg aci_epg: <<: *apic_info tenant: Scripting ap: App{{ item }} epg: Web bd: BD state: present with_sequence: count=100 so only that highlighted items is you will add once copied the create ap tasks. the issue with scripting machine is that the up/down arrow keys DONT work. It will type in letter p instead of going down....you can move up and down using J and K. but IT WILL NOT work if you already pressed insert key. so J and K is only for up/down before pressing insert. so what you do is vi playbook.yaml...now press j or k (i cant remember if j is for down or k is for down) all the way to end of create AP tasks. press Insert and then enter so it will leave a line between create ap task and the new epg tasks you are going to create. now copy and paste the epg tasks. you may not have the indentation aligned. Ansible is indentation SENSITIVE. so you will have to fix it...press ESC to get out of insert, now press k for down or left/right arrow to get to the newly added lines press insert, press space or delete to align , press ESC to get out of insert, now press k to go down to next line and left/right arrow to go the first letter of that line, press insert, align the line. etc for saving of course, press ESC, then :wq there is an ACI automation lab on dcloud.cisco.com. you can practise there. you can actually use the same codes on the WB. only difference is that you wont be able to create 100 apps due to limitation. i was only able to create 4. so change the count to 4. but in the exam, it will create 100 ap, 100 epg without issues.
