Routing Bit Set output not available in IOS images on CML2

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am studying OSPF and I am using CML2. In my studies, all the vIOS images in CML2 do not output Routing Bit  information in the output of a command:

No Routing Bit

R6#show ip ospf  database router

OSPF Router with ID (150.1.6.6) (Process ID 1)

                Router Link States (Area 0)

  LS age: 452
  Options: (No TOS-capability, DC)
  LS Type: Router Links
  Link State ID: 150.1.1.1
  Advertising Router: 150.1.1.1
  LS Seq Number: 80000007
  Checksum: 0x1391
  Length: 60
  Number of Links: 3

Different IOS image,

R7#sho ip ospf  database router

OSPF Router with ID (150.1.7.7) (Process ID 1)

                Router Link States (Area 2)

Routing Bit Set on this LSA in topology Base with MTID 0  ################################################## Routing Bit
  LS age: 366
  Options: (No TOS-capability, DC)
  LS Type: Router Links
  Link State ID: 150.1.6.6
  Advertising Router: 150.1.6.6
  LS Seq Number: 80000006
  Checksum: 0xF8FE
  Length: 36
  Area Border Router
  AS Boundary Router
  Unconditional NSSA translator
  Number of Links: 1

I am inquiring whether anyone knows of a current image preferably vIOS  that outputs Routing Bit information. Any assistance in this matter is grealtly appreciated.

The Routing Bit is supported on all IOS images.

The Routing Bit is only set on an LSA when the router can actually use the for routing. You must troubleshoot why R6 cannot route to 150.1.1.1

Also, keep in mind that IOS sometimes does not say "Routing bit set...", but rather it will provide no information. The Routing Bit information will actually pop up afer the LSA loses it. IOS will then say "Routing Not Set for LSA ...."

"The Routing Bit is supported on all IOS images."

Routing Bit is NOT supported on all images and that is the reason I am here. Please refer to the Kevin Rivest reply:

This is the hidden content, please

My question is limited to whether an vIOS .qcow2 image exist that would output Routing Bit Set. I am certain that some versions of IOS/IOS-XE do not output Routing Bit.

Thanks
