FYI, my issue ended up being a software bug with Nexus 5672UP-16G, there are several posts about it on the web. If you try to upgrade with the regular command: This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Process times out, failing with an error ID, lacking a user-friendly text message. That is why any of the images provided by you or an upgrade path failed. Solution is to simply set boot variables (kickstart & system) to the new images. I managed to upgrade to the first image you had supplied (7.3.16). Again, thank you for your time & effort. 1

To update the ROMMON on a Cisco Catalyst 3850-24T-E, you generally do not need to manually update a specific ROMMON file; it is included and automatically upgraded with the IOS XE image installation. The best practice is to upgrade the IOS XE software to a version ≥is greater than or equal to ≥ 16.x (e.g., 16.9.x), which includes the necessary ROMMON update

CISCOHAS2MAN Posted February 10 Posted February 10 ipmanyak I really appreciate the help. However, given the current state of this AP, it won't boot using the standard methods. Because the Flash is corrupted, it’s unable to process a .tar file or a WLC bundle. It looks like I’ll need to manually install the C9800-AP-universalk9.17.03.06.CSCwd40096.SPA.apsp.zip first to establish a working IOS-XE environment. Once that base image is functional, the AP should be able to successfully join the WLC. 1
