CCDE Written is the only one exam that renews CCIE/CCDE by itself; aka single-handily;   

Otherwise, you need 2 Pro-level exams (Core and concentration) or even 3 concentration exams. OR 120 CEs OR a mix of  exams and CEs credits.  i.e. 1 Core exam and earn 40 CE OR 1 concentration exam and earn 80 CE.
