Dimas21
I got everything working as per instruction. This is by far, the most useful practice lab, I have ever downloaded. I wonder what adjustment or changes are required for this to crack the version 9 exam? Thank you.
jakesmith
Downloaded ISO file and extracted its content, resulting in a rhel8.iso file. Obtained VMWare Workstation Player and created a VM using the rhel8.iso file. Allocated resources to the VM: 80 GB SSD Disk, 4 Processor Cores, and 8 GB RAM. VM starts in VMWare Workstation Player, but there is no visibility of control or node# VMs within Virtual Machine Manager. I noticed that the disks are stored in the /opt/ex294/disks directory, suggesting a potential issue preventing the launch of guest VMs. Followed instructions to open the menu at Applications -> EX294 -> Select VM, which resulted in an error message: "Failed to connect: No running virtual machine found." Running the vmctl view all command also throws an error: "Failed to get domain 'control', Domain not found, no domain with matching name 'control,' and the same error repeats for each node. Any ideas? I have recreated VM three times now and experiencing same issue Edited October 24, 2023 by jakesmith
jakesmith
Resolved above by following: Host OS --> RHEL 9. Uninstalled VMWare Workstation Player. Installed VMWare Workstation 17 Pro, though it's believed that this step may not be necessary, as the solution should work with VMWare Workstation Player as well. Created a VM using the previously mentioned process. After shutting down the VM, opened VM settings. Navigated to the "Processors" section and checked the option to "Virtualize Intel VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI." (This option couldn't be selected during the initial VM creation process.)
