I think you are mixing the boolean logic up...

Boolean "and" function––When a tracked list has been assigned a Boolean "and" function, each object defined within a subset must be in an up state so that the tracked object can become up.

Boolean "or" function––When the tracked list has been assigned a Boolean "or" function, at least one object defined within a subset must be in an up state so that the tracked object can become up.

This is the hidden content, please

After multiple "labbing", the solution in the workbook works if only you use the boolean 'and' and NOT 'or'

Based from the instruction:
"If both r11 and r12 are declared unreachable from a preferred gateway, the other switch must be allowed to assume the gateway role."

With this statement, do you mean that boolean "AND" should be used instead of "OR", even the instruction says that if "both r11 and r12 are declared unreachable from a preferred gateway".

From my understanding, once both of the tracking are down that's only the time it will trigger the failover.

Because if the answer is boolean "AND", then the instruction should say something that even one of the links are down that it will failover right away, but that's not the case here.

In my opinion, it should use boolean "OR".

8. Verify that host11 and host12 can ping 2001:db8:14::1 located at the IaaS site. It is permitted to modify one existing configuration command on one of the SP routers to meet this requirement

Hi Loki from Asgard,,

With regards to fixing the mask from .254 to .255 for IaaS connectivity.

That sentence allows you to fix that mask on the loopback
